My FaVe JaPpY & IcE-CrEaM!

F R I D A Y, 2 3 M a y 2 0 0 8

It was a last minute arrangement for me to meet up with Linda for dinner as I was only told by Da Jie on this day itself - Sushi Tei (AJ: one of my fave place for dinner!) =P

After work at around 1845 hrs, Patrick gave us a lift by taxi to Vivo City. Linda was in the 'Q' when we reached... the 'Q' was SUPER LONG~ & we 'Q'ed for about half an hour to 45 mins for our turn. I was sooooooooo hungry duh (AJ: had only fruits in the morning & no time for lunch); I ordered Sashimi Salad w/ Sushi Tei Dressing + Sashimi Moriwase + Kajiki Sashimi + Ikura Shoyuzuka (AJ: my all time favourite whenever I dine at Sushi Tei) & I'll never give it a miss!

My fave cuisine! Jappy!

After dinner, went shopping at Vivo City; Tangs (AJ: expensive yet still nothing nice) & Mphosis. I think it's the beginning of Great Singapore Sale (GSS) because the shop was like packed like sardines. Wanted to buy clothes, but the designs not nice & I ended up buying 2 bags; black & white from Mphosis (AJ: 50% off).

After shopping, we decided to continue our 'diet' with ICE-CREAM (AJ: yummy!)! We went B&J's... I'd always order 'Merlionster' but looking at the price (AJ: increased from S$19 to $21 lo...), I've decided to order the 'Brownie...' something which costs only S$9.90 can't remember if price is inclusive of GST which comes with a brownie + choice ice-cream (AJ: i find it's worth, can give it a shot!). My fave ice-cream flavour is "Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough" & as usual I'll always order this when dine in or buy back (pint). (AJ: so peeps, from this post... you know some of what I like to eat? know what to do next time? *wink*) Check out the photos...

Dinner Time!

After continuous looooooong hours of shopping, went Rangoon Road for dinner.

Food Ordered; Signature Sambal Pomfret, Cray Fish, Chilli 'Tua Tow', Sambal Kangkong, Fish Tofu Cake, Prawn Paste Chicken Wing & Deep Fried Baby Squid for 2 tables.

Actually, the food used to be very nice.. not sure why the standard like dropping le~ especially turned so oily. Is it the oilier it is the tastier? =P Anyway, noticed that the coffeeshop not as packed as before & there used to have 2 coffeeshops, now left with 1 which is at Rangoon Road. Don't think I'll return for more... *very sad eh?*

Signboard's name: 'Lai Huat' something, can't remember le. =/
The pic is the Signature Sambal Fish!

(Thots: You may go try it out duh~ probably I'm watching my diet?)

Can You Believe it ?!?!?

After lunch at Sakae Wheellock, Linda & I walked to DFS. On our way there, saw McDonald's... bought ice-cream cone & large fries (fattening lo... juz realised put on weight le, need to lose lots! =< ).

After 'desserts' at McDonald's, we went DFS Galleria to shop. Arrived at DFS, went around & see what else can we buy besides Coach. We walked & walked... ended ourselves in Coach boutique. It was only 3:30 pm... Linda & I were looking around to see what we can get. We tried this tried that.. tried here tried there.. point here point there.. & our feet basically covered every tile of Coach boutique! In the end, did we buy anything? OF COURSE HAVE la!

One sales lady kept tagging behind us wherever we walked (the time was almost 5 pm) & she is supposed to go for her dinner break. We have chosen what we wanted & I think it's because she wanted our purchases to be accountable as 'her sales' performance that's why! Told her we won't be very fast because 'cuz's wife on the way & she'll take don't know how long more to shop around... yet she still persisted to stay on with us. Luckily, managed to persuade her to go dinner break & assured her we'll put under her name if we buying more & make payment before she comes back from dinner.

We continued to shop around... the sales staffs noticed us 'hanging' around in the boutique for quite some time & asked among themselves why are we staying so long? Are they buying or not? Guess how long we 'hanged' ourselves there? From 3:30 pm till 7:30 pm lo!!! SUPER LONG rite? Hmm... this is the first time I 'hanged' myself in a boutique for this long~
(thots: are we eligible for Guinness World Record yet? =p )

We both bought 2 items each (don't ask me how much we spent...) just guess ba~

see following photos on my purchases~

My all time favorite hobby; shopping & spending! =P
(thots: no outflow = no inflow)

Check out the 2 new additions to my lifestyle! =D

Quote: "why pay more when you can get the same quality & design?" - JT

the lesson learnt...

What happened... 30 April (Wed)

Murderer's car was parked quite a distance away from victim's car. Murderer was reversing, to go the shortcut way (her so-called) exiting carpark… BANG!!!

JT happened to come out from office, bro Jacko saw (luckily his vehicle was parked in the lot JUST BESIDE THE EXIT) & shouted: “JT JT!!! Your car kena bang!!! Ya ya! That’s the car! She bang x 2 (possessed by ricky martin eh? hehe =P) & tried to drive away!!!”
Gosh! I was like so MAD because I drive everyday! (thots: need to send in for repair & there goes my usage *argh*) Super ediot lo... Spoke to murderer, skarli so 'hao lian’ & ‘ya ya’ somemore can say her car also damaged! (thots: my problem ar? who banged who eh? & yet you still tried to hit & run if not for Jacko lo!!! - me suppressing hard!)

Really wanted to tell her off, but didn’t coz working in same building (diff coy), hence gave face. Murderer said outside settlement & don't mind paying cash (thots: don't use $$$ to 'see ppl' down thinking $$$ can settle everything, if you so rich compensate on the spot la!!!), took down her particulars & she said she’s rushing for exams & she will be going overseas over the weekend & to contact her on Tuesday.

SMS-ed her on Tuesday (6/5/08) with all the quotes I've checked with KAH Motor Sdn Bhd as well as private workshops, we met up at the accident scene & discussed. Told her my car still new, not even a year & warranty still valid (manufacturer's defect)... so I want my car to go for repair in KAH Motor. She replied: "What? KAH Motor? They sure slashed throat one! My car also less than a year lo (thots: BH~ SGP less than a year? don't bluff me lo!) & I don't send my car to KAH Motor, I use my own mechanic! (thots: that's your problem) Can you go for private mechanic? I don't mind coming out with cash so not to affect my NCD (thots: thought you very rich? Heard KAH Motor nia, you no $$$ eh?)." Anyway, talked quite a while... & she is supposed to come back to me on the quotes by her mechanic.

Days passed... despite my multiple SMS-es, calls & emails to her, she didn't respond. Called her mobile, cut my call.. somemore can say didn't receive lo. Suddenly, received SMS from her say claim insurance. Went down to KAH Motor on Sat (10/5/08) to make a report to claim insurance. Guess what??? The Service Advisor asked why so late then report coz insurance companies only give 14 days to make a report in order to claim the other party & that Mon is a PH! Service Advisor say still able to make it though, but need to file claim using 'ODC - Own damage claim' then legal will claim against her insurance & this will take up to 8 - 9 mths before we get compensated on amount spent. Damn, think she purposely drag drag drag... so I can't make it for my insurance claim lo. Anyway, managed to file claim report... car went for 'makeover' from 21 - 24 May.

Rules of the "game":
1. never go for outside settlement unless you can get immediate cash
compensation!

2. take down driver's particulars, contact details, vehicle no. & make, insurance
log card
(policy no. & company; it'll cost you if you request from LTA)

3. take photographs of accident scene (always have a camera in your vehicle)
(don't assume the 'murder' will share photos with you!).

4. safest way of claim - claim insurance!!!
leave it to your insurance company leaving yourself with a piece of mind after
the 'shock'!

After Makeover... 24 May (Sat)

Reached KAH Motor with dad & mom, we waited for a while (dozing off)... finally car is ready for collection. Inspected the car, paint got abit of problem & Service Advisor drove in for touch-ups. Waited again... re-inspect car, noticed some part not done well... was asked to come back on another Sat for re-touch-up else we'll have to waitttttttttt... so collected car, brought dad go buy clothes at Crocodile International (sales up to 70% off).

Upon reaching Crocodile International, saw the celebrities used by them for publicity - Nat Ho & Thomas Ong (got one more, but didn't notice & don't know who... haha =P)!!! I like Nat Ho lo! So I too bought clothes (support Nat Ho especially =D) & dad bought his (support Thomas Ong on behalf of me =D)!!! hahaha... 'damages spent' - few hundred bucks. Anyway, the design they have now quite fashionable (see next post for pics).

Me the Concern Public? Would you do the same?

Well, saw this terrible scene after alighting from taxi around 1400 hrs after my lunch at AnchorPoint. I've noticed that the bin hasn't been cleared for at least the past one month!!!

The following is my email sent to NEA. About an hour later, the mess has been cleared! Not sure if it is because of my email, my friends said "Must be la! Else who will know? Imagine you didn't write in... it will remain there lo! Aiya, you should've sent it to STOMP or Chinese Newspapers to get rewarded!" I replied "nah... this kind have to be serious and action have to be taken asap and it's not nice that I 'sabo' the relevant authority right?" hahahaa... Ok ok, see the photos I took as well.

P/S: If not mistaken, WHITE wrigglers are dengue mosquitoes!!! (Correct me if I'm wrong)

JT's thoughts: Can't imagine this is happenning despite active public education! Where are the contractors who are supposed to upkeep the environment? What about the relevant authorities? Hmm.. actually ar, what will happen to the contractors if NEA contacted them???

Feel free to share your views!

Dear Sir/Mdm,

RE: Uncleared Bin At Traffic Light Junction
I am sending this email with regards to the uncleared bin located attraffic light junction opposite CMPB (5 Depot Road).

I have noticed that the bin has not been cleared for at least one month and the rubbish are flowing out and lying all over the ground including the grass area behind the fence in front of the chinese temple.

Just today, after my lunch at around 1400 hrs, I noticed that there is a papercup with half-filled stagnant water. I believe the water collected could be rain water and has been there for days. Out of curiousity, I bent down and looked into the papercup. To my horror, I saw many wrigglers wriggling in the papercup of stagnant water!

As there have been on-going active public education and campaign through the media especially on mosquito breeding, it is very upsetting to see this happening in the neighbourhood as these wrigglers can cause unwanted diseases and put our lives at risk. I have also attached some photographs of the scene (i.e. please see attachments).

I would appreciate if you can contact the relevant authority to do a thorough clean up of this hazardous scene with a mass fumigation in case these mosquitoes are bred and grown stage.

Also, I would hope that the relevant authority will perform routine clean up of the bin to prevent further case of mosquito breeding.

P/S: Appreciate if you can let me know what are the actions taken via email.

Thank you.

Yours sincerely,
Joice Tan (Concern Public)

Look at the rubbish around the bin... isn't it horrifying?
Poor bin, suffering from 'indigestion' till it 'vomitted' all over the place!

Notice the small curvey creatures (so many of them lo!!!)
in the cup of stangant water!
Description: WHITE & wriggling happily!

Close-Up View of the many WHITE wrigglers!
