Me & My New Look!

26th September 2009, Saturday

Check Out My New "CROWN"
for September 09! ;)

i'm lovin' it! *thumbs up* =D

hmm... seems like my hair is getting longer & kinda going off shape for my previous look. have been thinking to go for a new look & was thinking really hard on what look should i go for. i have always wanted to go for the American Boy kind of look (AJ: those American Boys who plays Softball look la!) *grinz* but unfortunately, my hairstylist kept telling me not to cut too short else i will not be able to take it cos it is a drastic change from my used-to-have long hair to a very short round hair look!

nevertheless, i got what i have been wanting to go for at last!!! *yay* well, i have had lots of hair-do in between before i got what i have now... frankly speaking, i do have the weird weird feeling in me for this new look duh~ =P i guess, probably i am not used to it... but after looking at myself for a while and also through the uploading of my new look on the Facebook, i fell in love with my new look, new me!!! hmm... what is next for me? curls? cool cut like A-Mei? any suggestions?

The Army Open House (AOH) 2009

3rd September 2009, Thursday

Source: http://www.mindef.gov.sg/aoh09

The Army Open House (AOH) 2009 was held from 3rd to 7th Sep 09 at the Pasir Laba Camp (PLC). The five-day event featured the Army's transformation from its humble beginnings in the 1960s to the advanced, full-spectrum and integrated Army it is today.

The AOH ambassadors had portrayed their professionalism with a positive attitude, approachable, friendly, encompassing excellent customer service. We were greeted by the friendly ambassadors at the reception with a copy of the AOH brochure and a brief explanation on the overview of what AOH has in it for us. Paving our way to the information booth for the souvenir, we were approached by three ambassadors for photograph-taking. The photograph was processed on the spot which has exceeded our expectation and we were WOW-ed with the unexpected!

The AOH was organised and conducted in an atmosphere of fun and excitement with a wide range of activities, exhibits and entertainment. The AOH has successfully provided visitors with an oversight of the life, culture and history of the Army. The showcasing of static display on the fairground has excited visitors with its vast array of land vehicle and aircraft, and the wide spectrum of equipment with information on its capabilities and operations.

The highlights of the AOH were the various Worlds; Our World, Mission World, Combat World, Battle World, Action World, Future World and Fun World, that articulated the purpose of National Service. Military demonstrations featured including realistic and interactive mock-ups, simulated battlefield experience, live firing expedition, and action shows. Visitors get a chance to embark on tours to the battlefield in the Combat World and Battle World giving them the opportunity and experience on what it is like to be at the frontlines and rushing across the rugged terrain in the Army’s platforms! As we only arrived in the afternoon, we had limited time to experience the entire activities AOH has. Not giving up, we walked to the activity sites hoping to get a chance to experience the games. Every site which we had visited required a waiting time of between forty-five minutes to an hour. In the end, we had decided to settle at the Battle World for the Live Firing Safari, which we persevered and queued for almost an hour!

There was also fund-raising activity by the SAF Officers’ Wives Club with the sale of special SAF souvenirs or limited-edition T-shirts and Caps, allows individuals to do their part for charity. There was also a fun-filled carnival at the Mega e-Mart and entertainment with stage performances, family oriented food and beverage outlets for the resting of feet and sitting back to relax with a cold drink, and the fun-fair games that cater to all age groups.

The visit to the AOH was insightful and a very knowledge-packed experience which I believed it had provided the public with a better understanding of the Army and the SAF over the years. On a separate note, have you ever wondered why do we have such Open Houses? Think about it... Hmm...~

'Excursion' @ the Outward Bound Professionals!

28th July 2009, Tuesday

today is our so-called self-proclaimed 'Excursion'! a day before, we were discussing on the dress code... cool & casual =) *yay*

Ah Kel came with Donney in his car to pick me up & we had breakfast below my house before setting off to Punggol End Jetty. when we arrived at the carpark, rang Jian Hao & he couldn't join us as he was not 'feeling well' & will be on 'MC' duh~ =x we were issued name tags which i thought it was good as previously they did not prepare name tags for us.

our Exclusive OBP Guest passes!

in the end, only the 4 of us - FA, Ah Kel, Donney & me went to the Outward Bound Professionals!!! (AJ: OBP here we come!) the weather was super hot & sunny. the sun was scorching brightly & hot up there in the sky shining above us! well, poor Ah Kel... he wore a knitted cotton long sleeves top! (AJ: it is hot de lo... cannot understand why he can take it..) we boarded the ferry, enjoying the beautiful sea & scenary...

making our way to the ferry... *spot Ah Kel!*
(AJ: Look at Ah Kel, he can't wait to board lo...)

'Symphony' the ferry of the day!

Ah Gal a.k.a. Donney
(AJ: isn't he kwel in his G.A shades?)
*wdut?*

(Left): Kelvin a.k.a. Ah Kel
(Right): Donney a.k.a. Ah Gal

the sun was really scorching hot! *fans*

Ah Kel in deep thoughts...
(AJ: hey~ check out his attire!)

one of the beautiful scenary... =)

dozing off? hmm... or hiding away from the sun?
(AJ: no idea wth he was doing, just snapped it!) *LOLz*

the journey was approximately less than 10 minutes & soon we arrived at Ubin Camp 1. we were being welcomed & then followed by a orientation tourage of the camp led by Boon Wee showing us around on the facilities as well as the prgrammes OBP offers... =)

this boat can take up to 18 trainees to go on a boating teambuilding mission
(AJ: boat was designed by one of the OBS staff)

the 'Inverse Tower'
(AJ: can you imagine how hot it is? Spot the sun!)

the full shot of the 'Inverse Tower'

hmm... does Ah Gal looks like he is filming an advert?

more facilities in OBP...

the 'Tripod'
(AJ: can't remember how this is being used...)

(AJ: another facility which i have forgotten what it is called...)

the only Medical Centre [+] on the island

the Multi-Purpose Hall (MPH) & it's indoor facilities

the Pool w/o Life Guard on patrol =x
(AJ: used for training purposes only, e.g. kayaking...)

the 'Training Room'
(AJ: like their LCD TV & Window Panel!) =)

the 'Dormitory' = Suite!
(AJ: 'Natural' air-con installed & stays up to respective gender
or mixed gender depending on comfort level)

the Rock Climbing facility
(AJ: Spot the instructor...)

notice my cup of plain water? super chlorined lo! *yuks*
(AJ: they provide a great variety of lunch spread!

back in class for the 2 hr facilitation by the OBPs!
(AJ: Ah Kel is forever doing this when shot! hmm... Ah Gal so happy lo!)

during the facilitation... 'Dicey Business' game
which involves us counting the dices!
(AJ: forgot the name le la!)

after Dicey Business game, we had a shuffle in our groups & continued with the last game - Decipher the message... something like this. this game has strips of the storyline... we are supposed to guess who 'drives a truck'! LOL... anyway, non of us got it right.. given the time was so short & there were alot of 'Red Indian Chiefs' which i hated! finally, the whole thing ended... it was somewhat a relieve... we took the ferry back to land...

Ah Kel... still in deep thoughts~
(AJ: hey Kel, zo si mi?)

Welcome back to 'Singapore'!

what's wrong with the weather???

26 ~ 27 July 2009, Saturday ~ Sunday

*yawns* it was just another weekend of the week. nothing to do... simply slack my weekends off. slept slept slept... net net net... =P chilled myself in the air-con room, really can't bear with the weather out there! did not want to do anything, cos it was really warm out there! (AJ: well, had tons of stuffs to do at home duh!)

hmm... decided to wash my clothes. threw my clothes into the washing machine, slacked on the bed while it was still in the wash... dozed off! *LOLz*

woke up the next day to shine the clothes, luckily no damp-type of smell on my clothes. still smell FRESH! hee~ =) went back to sleep... woke up, wanted to make dinner & ended up going to Sheng Siong Supermarket at Taman Jurong! (AJ: it was really far!) shopped for food stuffs for steamboat, home necessities & went to my fave BBQ chicken wing (located behind old Keat Hong camp) coffeeshop for dinner.

sick sick sick... =(

17th July 2009, Friday

woke up in the morning, opened my eyes... starring at the ceiling thinking if i should jump off bed & prepare for work or to go on MC. hmm... can't decide, closed my eyes & went back to sleep for another half an hour. thought thru in my sleep & decided not to go work le... was down with a terrible bad cough, sore throat & flu =( erm... H2N2? *LOLz...*

well, sms-ed wp & ah gal that i will not be going to work today. gonna give the Jul 09's touch time organised by Bev & Tai Ling a miss! hais.... (AJ: sorry ladies... my condition was really really bad~) =( went back to sleep... received quite a number of calls & sms-es from people who cares about me asking about my condition (AJ: thanks...) but it was rather disturbing duh (AJ: you know who you are? anyway, thanks for the 'stuff') cos i need to rest more before i could wake up & make my way to the doc.

at last, woke up at 1000 hr... washed up, bathed & changed & drove to the doc in Bishan (AJ: went back to this doctor/clinic cos i find the medicine effective) but i was being referred to another doctor as the main doctor is rushing off *sians* after seeing the doctor. as usual, i requested for the liquid kinda of medicine instead as pills cos i simply hate pills! they are hard to swallow! bought bubble tea, my fave peach green... & went for lunch. had fish soup porridge & went back home to rest.

H2N2??? hmm... ...

16th July 2009, Thursday

Nic was at Depot Rd for the e-HR thingy. met her during AM tea-break & arranged with her for lunch at rocky master where i had strawberry cheesecake + a can of coke zero. not long later, wp, mx, bev, cc & ah gal joined us. we had a long chat with lots of laughter! LOLz... i can tell from Nic's facial expression that she is enjoying herself with us yakking away with her! hahahaha...

after lunch, did my mid-year appraisal. it started at about 1430 hr, which is a very super duper looooooooooooong session & eneded at about close to 1700 hr!!! (AJ: amazing right? i also don't know what we talked which took us this long!) perhaps this is due to the change of my appointment & job area ba... anyway, nothing big deal to mention about & 'i am still who i am' & nothing has changed so far i guessed... in fact, i was trying my best to stay awake YET wp caught me dozing off! hahaha.... don't care le la, die jiu die lo...

came out from appraisal at about 1710 hr. suddenly, i was caught in between some problems which caused me to be very upset. not long later, prolly around 1730 to 1745 hr, i started to feel that i have been extremely chilling cold~ *trembles* i stood at my seat for a while... started to feel my mucus dripping out from my nose! eeeeeeeeeeeeeeks.... i know... hahahaha... & here comes mr sore throat & some other symtoms which i am also not sure what has infected me... & finally, i fell sick~

got home, took some cough syrup praying that my throat will not be affected! =O went online for a moment, suddenly felt that the medicine was taking effect on me... (AJ: weird thing is the cough syrup is so strong till it concusses me making me feel drowsy with my eyes shutting!) blogged abit, FB-ed abit & went to pig pig cos really can't take it le...

nites....
